Afghanistan: Explosion targets a security forces car in Kabul
The Interior Ministry's deputy spokesman in the Taliban government reported an explosion in the center of the capital, Kabul, and the injury of two security force members.
The Afghan government confirmed that an explosion occurred today in the center of the capital, Kabul.
The Ministry of Interior's deputy spokesman Aqil Jan Azam said, "The explosion occurred in the 9th Security District of Kabul, and targeted a security forces vehicle, wounding two of its members."
He stressed that investigations had begun into the accident, while no party had yet claimed responsibility for the explosion.
For its part, the local Aswaka news agency quoted eyewitnesses saying they heard "shooting after the explosion."
Since the chaotic US retreat last summer and the Taliban's return to power last summer, Afghanistan has witnessed a series of ISIS terror attacks aimed at destabilizing the country and hindering all efforts to progress.

On Tuesday, the Foreign Minister of the Taliban government, Amir Khan Mottaki, revealed that he met in Tehran the leader of the Afghan opposition, Ahmed Masoud, and assured him of the possibility of his return to Afghanistan without any fears.
