The wife of the Palestinian prisoner Maher al-Akhras confirmed during an exclusive interview with Al Mayadeen that the occupation extended the detention of the prisoner for an additional 7 days and that he will be tried next Wednesday.

The wife of the PIJ leader revealed that he is in the Israeli prison of Al-Jalama, in difficult conditions, confirming his adherence to the hunger strike he began immediately after his arrest by the Israeli occupation forces at dawn yesterday.

Furthermore, she advocated for raising awareness about the status of the prisoners in the occupation's prisons, stressing the need to intensify efforts to support them and inform the world of their cause.

The wife of prisoner al-Akhras touched on the hunger strikes that the prisoners are engaged in, pointing out that her goal is to make their voices heard and shed light on their cause, stressing that the occupation wants to eliminate the issue of hunger-striking prisoners.

In the same context, the Palestinian Prisoners Information Office announced that an Israeli occupation court extended Maher al-Akhras' detention for seven days, justifying that by completing the investigation with him in the Al-Jalama detention center, where he would continue his hunger strike for the second day, in protest of his arrest.

Previously, al-Akhras spent five years in the occupation prisons, during which he went on an open hunger strike that lasted for 103 days, in protest of his administrative detention, until he was liberated and emerged victorious from the occupation prison.
