Al Jazeera to refer killing of cameraman in Gaza to ICC
Al Jazeera has referred to the killing of one of its journalists as an "assassination."
Al Jazeera has chosen to send the case of its murdered cameramen in Gaza to the International Criminal Court, according to a statement issued by the Qatar-based network on Saturday.
According to the broadcaster, the cameraman, Samer Abu Daqqa, was martyred by an Israeli drone attack on Friday while reporting on the previous bombardment of a school used as a refuge for displaced persons in the southern Gaza Strip.
At least 15 martyrs were killed by "Israel" when occupation forces targeted the residential area of Jabalia in northern Gaza, according to Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza.
The IOF has forced residents out of several neighborhoods in the northern Gaza Strip, particularly in the Beit Lahia project, while besieging other residents of Beit Lahia, Falujah, and other towns in the northern sector.
In Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, several were martyred and others were injured after "Israel" shelled a school affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA).
Israeli snipers also targeted and killed civilians in the Yarmouk neighborhood in the city of Gaza, as reported by Al Mayadeen's correspondent.
Since October 7, the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip has resulted in the death of at least 87 Palestinian journalists, according to the government media office's announcement on Monday.
The media office stated that "Israel's" targeting of Palestinian journalists is perceived as an effort to distort the Palestinian narrative and conceal the truth.
As part of efforts to depopulate the Gaza Strip, "Israel" has since October 7 carried out airstrikes and ground offensives, while also imposing a siege on the Gaza Strip.
IOF bomb only hospital in Gaza with an operational maternity ward: MoH
The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported today, Saturday, that the occupation forces forcibly evacuated the wounded from the Kamal Adwan Hospital and violently harassed the medical staff.
It also confirmed that the occupation forces destroyed the southern part of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip.
The ministry also reported that the occupation forces have been systematically repressing and humiliating the medical staff in the hospital, adding that 12 babies are still trapped in the incubators in the hospital without water, food, or medical care.
It further stated that the occupation forces had also bombed the al-Sahaba center yesterday, which is currently the only facility with an operational maternity ward in Gaza.
The ministry affirmed that the medical staff at al-Awda Hospital remain steadfast, refusing the IOF's directives for evacuation, adding that the Israeli occupation forces have directly targeted ambulances and deployed snipers that are targeting anyone moving inside Kamal Adwan and Al-Awda Hospitals.
