Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, mourned the Islamic Resistance of Lebanon's martyred senior officer Wissam Hassan Tawil, codenamed Hajj Jawad, who was assassinated by the Israeli occupation on Monday in southern Lebanon.
In a letter to Hezbollah, al-Qassam praised "Tawil's pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian people, exemplified by his leadership in numerous operations along the Palestinian-Lebanese border."
The al-Qassam Brigades also mourned all the martyrs of the Lebanese resistance who were martyred on the path to al-Quds
Earlier today, the town of Khirbet Selem carried the martyr al-Tawil to his final resting place in his hometown.
A member of Hezbollah's Central Council, Sheikh Nabil Qaouq, confirmed, in a message to "both friends and enemies," that martyr Wissam Tawil (Hajj Jawad), who was assassinated by the Israeli occupation, on Monday, "trained and graduated thousands of freedom fighters who love martyrdom as well, and [await] the great confrontation with the enemy."

In a speech he delivered during the funeral of the martyr in the town of Khirbet Selem, Sheikh Qaouq stressed that "Hajj Jawad is one of the heroes" who had been involved in the Resistance since its beginnings and was directly involved in its latest operations ahead of his martyrdom.
He added that the martyr also played a significant role in the Liberation of the year 2000 when the Israeli occupation was forced to withdraw from Beirut and Southern Lebanese to the now-called Blue Line. Moreover, Hajj Jawad was also present during the 2006 war which ended in what was called a Divine Victory.
