The al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, announced on Saturday that its Nablus Brigade had carried out a bombing targeting Israeli occupation forces in the northern West Bank city.
According to the group, a combat unit detonated a Sijil-type guided explosive device at approximately 1:10 am, directly striking an Israeli military vehicle and rendering it inoperable amid an Israeli incursion into the New Askar refugee camp in Nablus.
In the central West Bank, Israeli occupation troops erected a military checkpoint in the middle of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah, stopping cars and checking passengers’ identity cards. The move caused heavy traffic congestion as Israeli forces deployed across the town’s streets and alleyways.
Elsewhere near Ramallah, the IOF sealed off the main entrance to the village of al-Mughayyir, the only access point remaining after "Israel" closed the eastern entrance in October 2023, effectively isolating Palestinians.
In Jenin Governorate, Israeli occupation forces arrested six Palestinians from the towns of Ya'bad and Qabatiya during overnight raids. Another Palestinian family in the al-Faraa refugee camp, south of Tubas, was forced to evacuate their home during a separate incursion.
At least 10 Palestinians detained across the West Bank amid widening Israeli raids
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society said at least ten Palestinians were detained across the West Bank during multiple Israeli raids.
Meanwhile, settler attacks continued over the weekend. Farmers harvesting olives in the village of Burin, south of Nablus, were assaulted by the security guard of the nearby Yitzhar settlement and several accompanying settlers, local sources said. The assailants reportedly beat the farmers, forced them off their land, and scattered their collected olives.
In a separate development, Israeli authorities approved the construction of 1,300 new settlement housing units in Gush Etzion, south of occupied al-Quds.
Three Palestinians injured in settler attack near Beit Lahm
Three Palestinians were wounded on Saturday when Israeli settlers opened fire during an assault on the village of al-Minya, southeast of Beit Lahm, local officials said.
Zayed Kawazba, head of the al-Minya village council, told WAFA that “a group of armed colonists, under the protection of Israeli forces, attacked residents in the vicinity of the village, opened fire directly on residents, wounding three in their lower extremities.” The injured were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Kawazba added that settlers allowed their livestock to graze among the village’s olive trees, a move he described as “provocative", aimed at driving residents away and seizing land near nearby settlements. He said Israeli forces accompanying the settlers “provided protection for the colonists, exacerbating tension and fear among residents.”
According to Kawazba, al-Minya has faced repeated settler assaults, including land incursions, destruction of trees, and restrictions on farmers’ access to their property.
OCHA: Settler attacks on olive harvest in West Bank reach 5-year high
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has reported a significant surge in settler violence during this year’s olive harvest season in the occupied West Bank, the highest recorded in the past five years.
According to the report, 126 settler attacks were documented across 70 towns, resulting in the vandalism of over 4,000 olive trees and saplings. These attacks have impacted the livelihoods of numerous Palestinian families who depend on the olive harvest as a vital economic and cultural activity.
OCHA noted that settlers from newly established barriers have placed restrictions on Palestinians attempting to reach their olive groves.
In just one week, 60 separate attacks were recorded, highlighting the intensity of the aggression. These incidents included physical assaults, damage to property, and obstruction of access to agricultural lands.
At least 17 Palestinians were injured in settler-led assaults during the past week alone, while 19 vehicles were vandalized. In a recent incident east of Qalqilya, settlers attacked olive harvesters, injuring two people.
Simultaneously, occupation forces prevented farmers in the village of Kafr Qaddum from accessing their lands, compounding the challenges faced by Palestinian communities during the harvest season.
