The Al-Quds Brigades - Tulkarm Battalion announced on Thursday that the IOF targeted Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank, after which the Battalion claimed responsibility for engaging an Israeli military force north of Tulkarm.

A statement by the Battalion said: "Our freedom fighters carried out a shooting operation this morning, targeting a gathering of the occupation forces at the Shweika Gate, with heavy and successive salvoes of bullets, directly."

The Battalion confirmed that there were casualties in the IOF after fighting violent clashes in Tulkarm. Simultaneously, the IOF raided multiple areas in the occupied West Bank and detained dozens of young men.

According to local sources, the IOF raided Palestinian homes in the village of Qibya, Ramallah district, and then detained the young men: Shadi Dar Nasser, Ahmed Dar Nasser, Muhammad Ghaidan, and Musab Ghaidan.

Last month, the IOF raided Tulkarm opening fire on Palestinians and employing explosives. A month before in May, the IOF accompanied by police dogs, raided a number of homes in the Al-Rabay'a neighborhood and subjected their residents to interrogation.

Coinciding with the continuation of the incursion, occupation forces called for military reinforcements to the camp.

Just yesterday, the UN Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, said 'Israel' turned the Palestinian territories that have been occupied into an 'open-air prison' due to the large-scale detention campaigns regularly conducted by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF).

During a press briefing, Albanese said that "There is no other way to define the regime that Israel has imposed on the Palestinians - which is apartheid by default --other than an open-air prison."
