Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has called on citizens to actively and consciously participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for November 11, describing it as a vital moment to define Iraq’s political and economic future.
No excuse for abstaining from participation
Al-Sudani emphasized that participating in the elections is a constitutional right and a national duty that should not be neglected. He warned that abstaining from voting could open the door for “failures and corrupt individuals” to return to power.
“We are counting on conscious and active participation in the elections on November 11, the day on which we will chart Iraq's new political future,” he stated.
PM stresses national interests over political crises
The Prime Minister underscored his vision for a government that prioritizes wisdom, dialogue, and the interests of Iraq and its people, not political agitation or internal and external conflicts.
“We want the policy of wisdom and prioritizing the interests of Iraq and Iraqis to continue. We do not want to return to the policy of creating crises and embroiling Iraq in problems,” he added.
Al-Sudani also highlighted signs of economic recovery and national stability, citing investment opportunities valued at over $450 billion as part of Iraq’s broader development plan.
He described this project as both a “people’s project” and a “dream project” that reflects the aspirations of a nation moving toward long-term prosperity.
