Algeria Accuses Morocco of Killing Three Algerians at Mauritania Border
The Algerian Presidency announces that three Algerian nationals were killed in a "barbaric" artillery shelling of their trucks.
The Algerian Presidency announced on Wednesday that three Algerian nationals were killed in a "barbaric shelling" of their trucks as they were moving on the road linking the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott with Ouargla Province in Eastern Algeria.
The statement clarified that a number of elements indicate that Moroccan occupation forces in Western Sahara "committed this cowardly assassination using an advanced weapon."
The statement also noted that as the Algerian people were celebrating the 67th anniversary of the Algerian Liberation Revolution, three Algerian nationals were cowardly assassinated in a barbaric attack on their trucks on the road between Nouakchott and Ouargla, in the midst of regular trade operations.
It said that these men were victims of state terrorism, and they will be considered as martyrs of national liberation, who made Algeria a beacon of the values and principles of its eternal history, stressing that "their assassination will not go by unpunished."
Algeria - Morocco relations
Morocco closed its Algiers Embassy on August 27th after Algeria severed ties with the Kingdom over what it called "hostile actions".
Earlier, Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra said that Morocco's hostile actions toward Algeria were the reason its country severed ties with the Kingdom.
Algerian Communications Minister Ammar Belhimer stated on Wednesday that "France protects Algeria's enemies and supports them," and the purpose of this is to infringe upon Algeria's sovereignty and security.
Belhimer, in an interview for the Algerian TV, highlighted that France has dedicated the AFP to praise Algeria's enemies and harm its stability and unity, noting that it is using terrorism to achieve what its war fleet could not.
In a message to France and all those betting on terrorism to harm Algeria's security, he declared that the people have learned full-well the lessons of the Algerian Civil War.
