Algeria refuses to call Palestinian resistance terrorists
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune declared that Palestinians are not "terrorists," but rather defending their home.
In light of the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune supports the Palestinians' right to defend their territory and refuses to label the Palestinian resistance as "terrorists."
Tebboune declared that Palestinians are not "terrorists," but rather defending their home as "Israel's" onslaught on the Gaza Strip enters its twenty-third day, with over 8,000 dead.
The Algerian President refused to label Hamas as a terrorist organization, noting that it was previously applied to Algerian resistance fighters during the liberation war, adding, "Whoever defends the right, the land, and his homeland is not a terrorist."
He emphasized that the Israeli occupation is committing war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Tebboune also notes that the Palestinian reconciliation path had been halted, despite "sincere intentions," pointing out that there was an earlier agreement with the Palestine Liberation Organization to meet after the Arab summit and elect a new leadership.
The reason, according to Tebboune, was that other countries were determined to maintain the state of the Palestinian diaspora.
Algeria has held mass protests in support of Palestine and the people of Gaza in the face of the Israeli occupation massacres that have been ongoing for two weeks.
The country also called on "the international community to assume its responsibilities, especially the Security Council, to ensure protection for defenseless Palestinian civilians."
The Israeli occupation has now increased its bombardment on Gaza and cut off all sources of communication in several areas of the city. Hence, limiting medical work inside the long-threatened hospitals
