Algeria called on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to provide full protection for Palestinians

Algeria has strongly condemned the dangerous attacks carried out by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinians, at dawn Friday, in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad stressed "the necessity of providing full protection for Muslim worshipers and allowing them to perform their rituals in Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is a purely Islamic endowment for Muslims."

Algeria called on the international community, the Security Council in particular, to "carry out the tasks entrusted to it, act to put an end to these aggressive provocations, and provide protection for the Palestinian people and their holy places."

The statement added that "the repeated violations against the Palestinian people and the resulting insecurity and instability, caused by the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, reaffirm the urgent need to launch a serious peace process that leads to the establishment of a comprehensive and just peace in the Middle East and achieves Israel's withdrawal from all Arab occupied lands and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital."

Al Mayadeen sources reported earlier today, Friday, that Egypt has been in contact with Hamas movement since the morning, in an aim to discuss developments in occupied Al-Quds and the general situation in occupied Palestine.

The sources also quoted Hamas as stressing that Gaza and Al-Quds were still at the forefront, and there is no backing down from the accomplishments of the Seif Al-Quds battle, noting that the detainees from Al-Aqsa Mosque must be released today and immediately.

The Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza affirmed that they support the people stationed in Al-Aqsa Mosque to defend it against Israeli assaults. The factions also held the occupation "fully responsible for the consequences of these attacks" against them, and warned of an imminent confrontation with the occupation if it continues its violations.

Israeli occupation forces storm Al-Aqsa mosque, assault worshippers

The Israeli occupation forces violently stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque at dawn on Friday, emptying it of worshippers, which led to confrontations with those stationed in Al-Aqsa to defend it.

Al Mayadeen correspondent reported that "occupation forces pursued the worshippers, assaulting them, and evacuated most of them from Al-Aqsa's courtyards, shutting all gateways there, except for Bab Huta."

The occupation forces detained no less than 400 Palestinians and injured more than 150 others.
