Algerian President to head on an official 5-day visit to China
The Algerian President's visit to China underscores the importance of strengthening diplomatic ties, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships, and addressing global and regional issues of shared importance.
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria is scheduled to embark on a significant five-day state visit to China on Monday, China Daily reported.
During this visit, President Tebboune will reportedly hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, with a focus on shaping the future trajectory of bilateral relations and discussing global and regional issues of shared importance, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin.
This visit marks President Tebboune's first official trip to China since assuming office.
In 2014, China and Algeria elevated their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership, making Algeria the first Arab nation to establish such a partnership with China. This deepening of ties has paved the way for increased cooperation and collaboration between the two nations in various sectors.
The spokesperson expressed his optimism that both countries will make substantial contributions to promoting security and stability in the Middle East while fostering unity and cooperation among developing nations.
The state visit of President Tebboune to China underscores the importance of strengthening diplomatic ties and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships between nations.
Back in May, during a meeting with the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Chairman Wang Yang, Algerian Council of the Nation President Salah Goudjil reiterated the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state as per the 1967 borders, with Al-Quds as its capital.
The Algerian official commended the deep historical relationship that brought together the people of Algeria and China since the revolution, calling for more consultations and coordination between the two countries' governments and parliaments with the goal of "finding mechanisms that allow for overcoming the challenges posed by the change of the world order, outlining the perspective toward this system and everything that stems from it, and defining the concept of non-alignment in a way that preserves the political independence of states."
Under President Tebboune, Algeria took a historical and brave step to protect the independence of its political independence and bolstered it with economic independence with the aim of "putting an end to economic dependence on other states," Goudjil added.
He also stressed the importance of China and Algeria cooperating on the level of the entire African continent on trade by establishing a trilateral cooperation agreement that allows for true economic independence that results in the bolstering of political independence.
Wang Yang, on the other hand, explained that his country was ready to support Algeria's efforts, led by President Tebboune, through enhancing and diversifying bilateral cooperation in a manner that serves the interests of both countries and helps toward accomplishing further achievements.
