The 2024 Presidential race is about to begin amid a difficult year for US politics. The results of a poll conducted by The Washington Post and ABC turned out a little discouraging for US President Joe Biden and his predecessor.

According to the poll, people seem uninterested in the prospect of a White House run-off between  President Biden and former President Trump.

More than half of voters from both Democrats and Republicans don't want either president to be their candidate in the 2024 US presidential election. According to the poll, 58% of Democrats and 49% of Republicans say they want another candidate.

Trump launched his campaign in November, and experts expect that he has to overcome strong opposition from within the party. Biden, on the other hand, has no concrete plans to run for re-election and no Democrats have said they plan to challenge him so far.

The poll numbers indicate that Trump will win with 48% against 45% for Biden, with a counting margin of error of 3.5%. Simulaneously, 42% of respondents approve Biden job's results, while 3% disapprove, including 42% who strongly disapprove.

With Biden's popularity rating remaining below 50% since June 2021, the poll captures a larger trend.

Some US media outlets have referred to these results as unexpected, and it seems that Biden's popularity has not increased despite the fact that the Democrats outperformed expectations in the November 2022 midterm elections.

Democrats defended the majority in Senate and fought a tough battle against the Republicans in the House.
