Amir-Abdollahian: Close to reaching a good agreement in Vienna
In an interview for the Iranian television, Iran's Foreign Minister stresses that Tehran is determined to reach the Vienna talks' desired results through actions based on national interests.
Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian announced that his country will continue the Vienna negotiations using strong logic, affirming that Iran provided solutions to the other parties.
In an interview for Iranian television, Amir-Abdollahian stressed that Tehran is determined to reach the desired results through actions based on national interests.
"We are close to reaching a good agreement," the Iranian Minister added, hoping that the agreement will be reached as soon as possible.
He mentioned that Iran does not want exhaustive and protracted negotiations.
Amir-Abdollahian explained that France was playing the role of the "bad police officer," but has recently been acting in a reasonable manner.
Iranian delegation: only a permanent agreement is possible
In an exclusive statement for Al Mayadeen, the Iranian delegation denied earlier the news of ongoing work to formulate an interim agreement, adding that Iran's goal is to reach a permanent agreement.
Circles in the Iranian delegation reported that negotiations are making slow progress and have not yet resulted in an agreement, accusing European countries of slowing down talks.
In a phone call on Saturday with his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Amir-Abdollahian pointed out that the Vienna Talks are proceeding in the right direction.
“We have the necessary will to reach a good agreement in good faith, and if the Western side also has this goodwill and determination, we can reach a good agreement,” he said.
