Exclusive: Iranian Vienna delegation denies reaching temporary agreement
The Iranian delegation in Vienna affirms its determination to reach a permanent agreement with the parties involved and indicates progress.
In an exclusive statement for Al Mayadeen, the Iranian delegation denied the news of ongoing work to formulate an interim agreement, adding that Iran's goal is to reach a permanent agreement.
Circles in the Iranian delegation reported that negotiations are making slow progress and have not yet resulted in an agreement, accusing European countries of slowing down talks.
Yesterday, Iran's chief negotiator to the Vienna Talks Ali Bagheri Kani said that the countdown to reach a final agreement in the Vienna negotiations has begun, adding that the talks are advancing and moving forward.
Bagheri Kani gave the statement to reporters on Saturday after meeting with representatives from the P4+1 group of countries and before leaving Coburg hotel.
He added that Iran and the five remaining signatories to the 2015 nuclear deal are working to resolve outstanding issues, while diplomatic efforts in Vienna continue to ensure the lifting of all sanctions.
Russia: The atmosphere is positive
On his account, the Russian chief negotiator to the Vienna negotiations, Mikhail Ulyanov, said the Vienna Talks are moving forward.
As the eighth round of the Vienna talks between Iran and the P4+1 over Tehran's nuclear program proceeds in the Austrian capital, reports suggested that the delegations have neared reaching a final agreement.
The negotiations are moving onward, a European delegate told IRNA on the condition of anonymity. "No important progress is being made, but the trend of the talks is positive, and the parties to the talks are making their best efforts to reach a final agreement," the official added.
