Anti-normalization protest in Morocco following Israeli envoy scandals
The Israeli occupation’s envoy is facing accusations of exploiting Moroccan women, sexual harassment as well as indecent exposure.
Dozens of demonstrators protested outside Morocco's parliament on Friday against the kingdom's normalization of ties with the Israeli occupation after the latter recalled its top envoy from Rabat in light of a probe, AFP reported.
The protesters chanted slogans denouncing the Moroccan-Israeli rapprochement, bashing the occupation's ambassador David Govrin and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
According to Israeli public broadcaster Kan, a foreign ministry delegation has been dispatched to Rabat in response to sexual abuse allegations against Israeli envoy Govrin.
Quelque chose de plus dans la manifestation d’aujourd’hui en faveur de la Palestine. Une énergie particulière qui fait mouche.

As cited by AFP, an Israeli diplomatic source affirmed that Govrin had been recalled while an investigation was conducted, but did not elaborate on the nature of the investigation.
The Israeli occupation’s envoy is facing accusations of exploiting Moroccan women, sexual harassment as well as indecent exposure.
The investigation also focuses on a series of embezzlements, including the disappearance of a gift sent by the King of Morocco on the occasion of the establishment of the occupation's regime, which was not handed over to the government as is customary.
On his account, a pro-Palestinian activist against normalization between Morocco and “Israel” said “today, we are in front of the parliament to protest against the hideous acts committed by Govrin.
"Morocco's dignity is not for sale, the normalization must end," he said.
Govrin, 59, was "Tel Aviv's" ambassador to Cairo before being named ambassador to Rabat last year.
According to an Israeli diplomatic source, Govrin is currently in “Israel” and is involved in the ongoing investigation.
It is worth noting that Rabat severed ties with “Israel” in 2000, following the outbreak of the second Palestinian intifada, but Morocco normalized ties with “Israel” in 2020, following the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
