Iran's Foreign Ministry has reaffirmed its unwavering support for any initiative that aims to halt ethnic cleansing, war crimes, and crimes against humanity in Gaza, emphasizing that any decision concerning the future of Gaza must be made by the Palestinian people and their Resistance forces.
In its statement, the Foreign Ministry elaborated that given the inherent risks in the proposed initiatives, Iran is once again warning against the Israeli entity repeating its history of reneging on agreements and deliberately obstructing the implementation of its obligations, particularly in the context of its expansionist and racist policies.
International community remains responsible
The statement further stressed that Tehran would welcome any decision that leads to an end to the genocide against the Palestinian people, a full withdrawal of the Israeli occupation army from Gaza, respect for the Palestinian right to self-determination, unhindered access for humanitarian aid, and the reconstruction of the territory.
The Foreign Ministry additionally underscored the international community's legal and moral responsibility to confront the ongoing genocide in Gaza. It further emphasized the duty of every nation to support the Palestinian people's legitimate struggle for self-determination and freedom from occupation and apartheid.
It also stressed that a ceasefire in Gaza does not absolve states and relevant international institutions of their legal responsibility to pursue and prosecute those responsible for Israeli crimes, including war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity. The statement highlighted the necessity of putting an end to the decades-long policy of impunity.
Iran also expressed its hope that conditions can be established for the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza and declared its full readiness to participate in this humanitarian effort.
