Arab, Int'l condemnations of Israeli attack on Iran consulate pour in
How did Arab and international sides react to the Israeli aggression that targeted the Iranian consulate in Damascus?
Several Arab and international sides condemned the Israeli aggression that targeted the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus on Monday, which led to the martyrdom of seven advisors from Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), including the commander of the Quds Force in Lebanon and Syria, General Mohammad Reza Zahedi.
Russia
The Russian Foreign Ministry said Moscow believes that any aggressive Israeli actions "are totally unacceptable and must be stopped."
"We urge the Israeli leadership to abandon the practice of provocative acts of force on the territory of Syria and other neighboring countries, which can lead to extremely dangerous consequences throughout the region," it stressed in a statement.
Hezbollah
In a statement, the Lebanese Resistance group Hezbollah said Zahedi was "one of the first to support, sacrifice, and persevere for many years to develop and advance the work of the resistance in Lebanon."
Hezbollah said the crime shows that "Israel" is still "foolish" for believing that assassinating leaders can stop "the roaring tide of people's resistance."
"Certainly, this crime will not pass without the enemy receiving punishment and revenge," the group vowed.
Yemen
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry in the Sanaa government also condemned the Israeli aggression, affirming it as a blatant violation of norms and laws, and an aggression against the sovereignty of two brotherly countries.
It said the aggression comes within the framework of American-Israeli revenge for the righteous and honorable stances of both Iran and Syria toward the just Palestinian cause.
Sanaa expressed its solidarity with Iran and Syria and supported their right to retaliate in self-defense.
On his part, Ali al-Qahoum, a member of the Political Bureau of Ansar Allah, stated the Yemeni movement condemns and rejects the "criminal, and treacherous" aggression on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, adding that it demonstrates the extent of "Israel's" persistence in committing crimes and violating Syria's sovereignty.
Mohammad Abdul Salam, head of the Sana'a negotiating delegation, said the Israeli aggression is a desperate attempt to portray victory.
Iraq
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry condemned the targeting of the Iranian diplomatic mission in Damascus, deeming it a flagrant violation of international law.
The Iraqi Kataib Hezbollah conveyed condolences to Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei and affirmed its readiness to equip up to 12,000 fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Jordan with light and medium weapons, rocket launchers against armored vehicles, tactical missiles, millions of ammunition, and tonnes of explosives, "to stand as one in defense of our Palestinian brethren."
Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry said it rejects the targeting of diplomatic facilities under any pretext, echoing similar condemnations from the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Jordan, and Pakistan.
Cuba
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parilla said Havan strongly condemns the Israeli attack on Iranian diplomatic missions in Damascus, describing the latest strike as a blatant violation of Syrian sovereignty and international law.
He warned that unacceptable Israeli actions increase the risk of escalation of conflict and unpredictable consequences.
Venezuela
Venezuela also strongly condemned the Israeli aggression, expressing solidarity with the peoples and governments of Iran and Syria.
In a related context, former Bolivian President Evo Morales condemned the aggression, adding that "Israel is a terrorist state that disregards international law."
During a phone call with the Iranian Foreign Minister, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hissein Brahim Taha, expressed solidarity with Iran, its people, and its government.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian requested that the organization take urgent and appropriate action against the background of the Israeli crime.
