The Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, tasked by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit regarding developments in the Gaza Strip and comprising several Arab and Islamic states along with the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, expressed its "strong condemnation and outright rejection of Israel's declared intention to occupy Gaza City."
The statement pointed out that "Israel’s" actions are an extension of ongoing grave violations, such as mass killings, deliberate starvation, forced expulsions, illegal land seizures, and violent attacks by settlers.
These policies "destroy any prospects for peace and undermine regional and international efforts to de-escalate and resolve the struggle," the statement noted, while adding that "the Palestinian people have endured 22 months of relentless aggression and a comprehensive siege affecting every aspect of life in Gaza, alongside grave violations in the West Bank and the eastern part of occupied al-Quds."
They emphasized the urgent need for an immediate and comprehensive halt to Israeli aggression, as well as an end to all violations against civilians and infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and the eastern part of occupied al-Quds.
Aid, reconstruction, and sustainable peace
The committee urged "Israel", in its capacity as the occupying authority, to permit the immediate and unrestricted entry of critical humanitarian supplies such as food, medicine, and fuel into Gaza, while guaranteeing that aid groups and humanitarian organizations can carry out their work without obstruction, in line with international humanitarian standards.
They called for the immediate launch of the Arab-Islamic reconstruction plan for Gaza while urging active participation in the upcoming reconstruction conference scheduled to take place in Cairo soon and condemned any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians from their lands in Gaza, the West Bank, and the eastern part of occupied al-Quds.
The committee stressed that true, sustainable peace requires establishing "two states" along the 1967 borders, with the eastern part of occupied al-Quds as the Palestinian capital, as mandated by international law and UN decisions.
