Arafat Yasser Hamdan martyred in Israeli prison
The Prisoners' Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club announced the martyrdom of prisoner Arafat Yasser Hamdan from the town of Beit Sira in "Ofer" Prison, only 3 days after he was detained.
The Palestinian Prisoners' Club and the Prisoners' Commission reported on Tuesday the martyrdom of prisoner Arafat Yasser Hamdan three days after he was detained.
Hamdan was a 25-year-old from Beit Sira, Ramallah District, and was being held in Ofer Prison.
According to the report, "The occupation began a systemic execution of prisoners."
In this regard, the Prisoners' Information Office revealed that the Prisoners' Execution Law, which was adopted by the occupation Knesset in the first reading, is currently being implemented within the occupation's prisons.
A proposed law in February this year permitting the killing of Palestinian detainees was passed by the Israeli occupation authority.
Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israeli police minister, was pushing the measure.
The Arab48 website reported that "the court can impose the death penalty on anyone who commits a murder offense on national grounds against the citizens of Israel," citing a joint statement released by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his minister Ben Gvir.
Sixteen Israeli legislators voted in support of the three-month temporary measure, which allows the Israeli regime's jails to accept additional convicts even if they are at capacity.
On Monday, Palestinian prisoner Omar Daraghmeh (58) was martyred in the Israeli "Megiddo" prison after he was tortured by Israeli occupation forces.
Daraghmeh is a senior official in the Hamas movement from the city of Tubas and was detained at the beginning of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood along with his son.
Israeli forces have arrested over 1,215 Palestinians from the West Bank and carried out brutal transgressions against prisoners in its prisons, beating prisoners until their limbs were broken and their faces were disfigured.
The head of the Commission for Ex-Prisoners’ Affairs, Qadura Fares expressed that "Israel" is taking out its vengeance on Palestinian prisoners after its failure on October 7.
Fares reported that the number of Palestinian detainees in the occupation prisons was 5,300, but it has risen since October 7 to more than 10,000.
Fares confirmed to Al-Mayadeen that the IOF continues to cut off water, electricity, and telephone communication from its prisoners, as well as starving them and leaving them dehydrated.
IOF ramps up raids and arrest campaigns in West Bank, Al-Quds
The town of Jaba, south of Jenin in the West Bank, was raided on Tuesday, which resulted in confrontations between the IOF and its residents, and two Palestinians were forcefully detained.
The towns of Al-Khader, Janata, and Beit Fajjar, south of Beit Lahm, were also raided today during an arrest campaigns that targeted the homes of Palestinians.
Freed prisoner Adnan Hamarsheh was also detained during the occupation forces' raid on the Shuafat camp in occupied Al-Quds, after storming his house in the town of Yabad, southwest of Jenin.
