Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in a phone call with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, underscored the growing strategic cooperation between Iran, China, and Russia in confronting Western unilateral policies, namely by the United States, within UN frameworks.
According to Araghchi, the constructive trilateral cooperation holds significant importance and enjoys broad backing from the Non-Aligned Movement, which continues to support multipolar international principles.
Araghchi consistently reiterates the importance of Iran-China-Russia coordination in countering European unilateral measures, particularly those tied to the snapback mechanism, and notes that this cooperation aims to neutralize attempts to reimpose sanctions on Iran outside legitimate frameworks.
He also highlighted recent international developments and praised the positions of the Non-Aligned Movement in support of Iran.
“We are witnessing a form of global polarization,” he said. “On one side are the European countries and a small allied minority; on the other side stands the majority of nations—led by Iran, Russia, and China—that uphold principles of independence, multilateralism, and international justice.”
Warning over Israeli escalation
The Iranian diplomat also called on the international community to remain vigilant in the face of the Israeli entity’s continued escalatory actions and to confront its policies that provoke instability and conflict in the region.
Over the past two years, "Israel" has launched several aggressions across the region, including Iran, Yemen, Lebanon, and Qatar.
Iran has consistently called for restraint and accountability. On October 25, Iran's Foreign Ministry has called for an end to the "chronic impunity" granted to "Israel" and its supporters, following a new International Court of Justice (ICJ) advisory opinion that sharply censures Tel Aviv for breaching international humanitarian law and obstructing UN aid operations in Gaza.
The ICJ opinion, issued on October 22, reaffirmed that as an occupying power, "Israel" is legally obliged to cooperate with UN agencies, including UNRWA, to facilitate humanitarian assistance in the Gaza Strip. The court stressed that "Israel" is "under a negative obligation not to impede the provision of these supplies," and found that its restrictions on food, water, and medicine violate international law.
