A delegation of Hamas leadership met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Doha on Thursday. According to a press statement from the movement, they discussed the ongoing Israeli genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people, including its crimes of starvation and killing through every brutal means.
The talks also addressed the grave threats facing the Palestinian cause, attempts to eliminate it, the "annexation" of the West Bank, and the division of the blessed Al Aqsa Mosque.
The movement's statement noted that both parties discussed diplomatic communications aimed at ceasing the aggression, through the mediation efforts of Egypt and Qatar, as well as the ongoing communications by Hamas' leadership in this regard.
The meeting also addressed the Israeli aggression against Iran last June and its repercussions on the struggle with the occupation, as well as on the wider region.
Iran remains steadfast with Palestine: Araghchi
On the other hand, the Iranian Foreign Minister reaffirmed in the meeting his country's steadfast position on the Palestinian cause and Iran's role in this context. He stressed that "the Zionist occupation is an enemy of the [Islamic] nation and an enemy of humanity," adding, "This truth has been confirmed thanks to the resilience and sacrifices of the Palestinian people in Gaza."
The top Iranian diplomat also noted that "the growing protests and rallies in various countries around the world against the crimes of the Israeli entity clearly reflect the international community's awakening to the genocide in occupied Palestine."
Araghchi additionally emphasized the critical need for a continued, coordinated, and comprehensive effort by Islamic nations to halt the genocide, deliver urgent humanitarian aid to the besieged population, and bring the criminal Israeli leaders to justice.
