At least 14 dead, 750 injured in Bandar Abbas Port explosion in Iran

Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni announced, during an inspection of the explosion site at Shahid Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas, that the number of injured has risen to 750, with 14 deaths recorded as of now.
Momeni noted that all necessary equipment and resources have been dispatched to Bandar Abbas from other Iranian cities.
He added that "the fire has not yet been fully extinguished due to strong winds," expressing hope that it would be brought under control in the coming hours.

Meanwhile, Iran's Fars News Agency reported renewed explosions at Shahid Rajaee Port after the flames spread to new containers.
The head of Hormozgan Police confirmed earlier that six people remain missing following the explosion at the port.
Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian ordered an immediate investigation to determine the circumstances and causes of the incident.
Pezeshkian also tasked the Interior Minister with representing him on the ground to oversee the investigation and manage the aftermath of the explosion.
The explosion, which occurred earlier on Saturday, caused the complete destruction of an administrative building and several vehicles in the area. The nature and cause of the blast remain unknown.

Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani stated that determining the cause of the explosion would take time.
She added that initial findings suggest that containers stored in a section of the port, possibly containing chemical materials, may have triggered the explosion.

Several countries and entities expressed solidarity with Iran following the explosion.
Pakistan
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended condolences to the victims' families and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
Iraq
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani instructed his Interior Minister to contact his Iranian counterpart to inquire about the incident and offer any necessary assistance, according to his office.
Turkmenistan
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan’s national leader, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, expressed his country's solidarity with Iran during a phone call with Pezeshkian.
Russia
Russia’s embassy in Tehran also conveyed its solidarity with Iran following the explosion.
UAE
Additionally, the United Arab Emirates expressed its condolences and solidarity with the victims of the Bandar Abbas port explosion, according to the state news agency.
Saudi Arabia
On its part, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended condolences and sympathies to Iran over the explosion and expressed readiness to provide any assistance Iran might require in the aftermath.

Qatar
The Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani also sent a condolence cable to the Iranian president over the victims of the Bandar Abbas port explosion.
Venezuela
Venezuela conveyed its solidarity and sympathy to the families and relatives of the victims and wished a swift recovery to the injured.
It also encouraged the relief teams to continue their humanitarian rescue efforts to assist those affected and the communities near the site of the disaster, reaffirming its deep solidarity, brotherhood, and humanitarian commitment to the brotherly Iranian people.
Hamas
The Hamas movement also expressed its full solidarity with Iran, extending its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims and wishing a swift recovery to the injured.
The Palestinian group also affirmed its full confidence in Iran's ability to overcome the aftermath of the incident and to continue its path of construction and progress.
