Attack on Palestinian people crime against humanity: Iran, Syria FMs
A press conference was held by the foreign ministers of Syria and Iran in Damascus regarding the latest developments in Palestine and the crimes committed by the Zionist entity.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said, in a press conference with his Syrian counterpart Faisal al-Miqdad in Damascus, that he held consultations with the Syrian side about the current developments in Palestine and the crimes committed by the Zionist entity.
Amir-Abdollahian stated that according to the information, "there are still some Israeli settlements and camps under Palestinian resistance control."
He also stressed that "the people of Gaza need aid to be delivered to them, the blockade to be lifted, and to put an immediate halt to the war crimes perpetrated against them."
The Iranian Minister touched on the Arab League statement and said that it was disappointing and he emphasized its lack of consensus among all Islamic countries.
Amir-Abdollahian expressed his sympathy with the reporters, journalists, and their families, and thanked them for their efforts in revealing the truth about the Zionist entity.
In turn, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad said, "Damascus agrees with the Islamic Republic of Iran that what Israel is doing against the Palestinian people are crimes against humanity," and held "Israel" responsible for the ongoing crises in the region, due to depriving Palestine of its rights.
He added that when the Palestinian people revolted to achieve their historical rights, "the United States and European countries provide unwavering support to Israel," and we hold them responsible for that.
"The United States and European countries are preventing food from reaching the Palestinian people, and are committing massacres by providing weapons of mass destruction to Israel," he added.
Al-Miqdad noted that the Israeli actions are a "profound affront to international humanitarian law."
Prior to the meeting between al-Miqdad and Amir-Abdollahian, the latter met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. During the meeting, the Syrian side emphasized its support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate struggle against the Israeli occupation to obtain their rights that have been stolen for more than seven decades.
In the meeting, al-Assad stressed the seriousness and bloodiness of what the Israeli military is doing in bombing civilians in the Gaza Strip and displacing them, and the necessity of everyone coming together to stop the crimes committed by "Israel" against the Palestinian people using internationally banned weapons.
Amir-Abdollahian, after arriving in Beirut yesterday as part of his tour in the region, met today with the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, where they discussed the latest regional developments, especially following the Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
He also met with caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and proposed holding a meeting for regional leaders to discuss the recent developments.
