In mid-November, Israeli media reported that Herzog will be the first Israeli occupation President to visit Bahrain in response to an invitation he received from King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
According to Israeli Channel 13, "Herzog will go to Bahrain on December 4 and will hold meetings with the king, senior officials in the kingdom, and members of the Jewish community," adding that the Israeli President's office "stated that the leaders will discuss strengthening relations and expanding cooperation."
The Israeli channel noted that Herzog will travel to the United Arab Emirates the next day and will participate in the space conference that will be held in Abu Dhabi, where he will meet with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the fourth meeting between the two.
Herzog's visit to the UAE and Bahrain comes more than two years after the two sides normalized relations within the framework of the so-called "Abraham Accords" under the auspices of the United States.
In September, Herzog received in "Tel Aviv" Emirati Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan who was accompanied by a high-level official and economic delegation.
