Belousov to replace Shoigu in Putin's new government reshuffle
The Russian President proposes reappointing Sergey Lavrov as Foreign Minister.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed candidates for the next cabinet's military and foreign affairs ministers, in addition to the heads of senior security agencies, according to Russia's Federation Council on Sunday.
The upper house reported that "the Federation Council has received the list of candidates proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin for the positions of heads of a number of federal ministries and agencies."
The Russian President proposed reappointing Sergey Lavrov as Foreign Minister, Vladimir Kolokoltsev as Interior Minister, and Alexander Kurenkov as Minister of Emergency Circumstances.
Mikhail Mishustin has been proposed as the Prime Minister and Sergei Shoigu will step down as Russian Defense Minister to be replaced by Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov.
In his address to the State Duma, Mishustin expressed his commitment to implementing Putin's initiatives, which were outlined in his recent speech to the Federal Assembly.

Mishustin stressed the government's dedication to realizing these initiatives and achieving the country's new development goals.
Prior to his appointment, the head of the State Duma's labor committee, Yaroslav Nilov, said that he supports Mishustin's candidacy for the premiership and expressed the belief that his colleagues in the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) will also support Mishustin.
"I fully support the president's proposal. Over the years, Mikhail Vladimirovich has repeatedly confirmed in practice his managerial competence in the most difficult and crisis situations," Nilov said on Telegram.
On March 18, Vladimir Putin emerged as the winner of Russia's presidential elections, and on May 7, he was sworn in as President of Russia, marking his fifth term in office.
Viktor Zolotov was reappointed as head of the Russian National Guard, Dmitry Kochnev as chief of the Federal Protection Service (FSO), and Alexander Bortnikov as leader of the Federal Security Service (FSB). Sergey Naryshkin will remain the chief of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.
Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed on Sunday selecting Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov as Minister of Defense, succeeding Sergei Shoigu, who has been appointed Chief of Russia's Security Council.
According to the Kremlin, "Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree 'On the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation' ... to appoint Sergei Shoigu as the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation."
Former Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev was appointed to a different post with no further information provided.
The Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov will also remain in his current position.
The first Deputy PM is proposed to be Denis Manturov, and Alexander Novak is proposed to be the Deputy PM overseeing energy and the economy.
Dmitry Patrushev is proposed as Deputy PM overseeing agriculture and ecology, and Vitaly Savelyev is the proposed Deputy PM overseeing transport.
Other position proposals were as follows: Oksana Lut as agriculture minister, Anton Siluanov as finance minister, Maxim Reshetnikov as economy minister, and Sergey Tsivilev as energy minister.
