Al Mayadeen's chairman also highlighted Maduro's vocal support for Palestine, asserting that his support for civilians in Gaza and the West Bank will "go down in history with pride." He referred to Maduro as the "rightful guardian" of the legacy of former president Hugo Chávez.
Ben Jeddou added that Maduro represents "millions of free people" globally, including segments of US youth and activists advocating for justice, coexistence, and genuine peace.
He concluded by wishing Maduro continued well-being and success, expressing hope for prosperity and social justice for the Venezuelan people and for broader communities across Latin America, the Global South, and all free nations of the world.
Following is the full text of the letter:
To the courageous Venezuelan and internationalist leader, President Nicolás Maduro, with all our most sincere affection:
Happy birthday. May you enjoy many more years of steadfastness, victory, and dignity.
I address you on this anniversary, Mr. President, on behalf of free journalists and the Arab political, cultural, and intellectual elites, pan-Arab nationalists, revolutionaries, and members of the Resistance across our oppressed nations, and in my own name, with the highest expressions of solidarity and support.
You lead the heroic, loyal, and steadfast masses of Venezuela in a struggle to consolidate independence and sovereignty, to uphold Bolivarian and Latin American dignity, and to safeguard peace both regionally and globally.
Dear President, through your personal resolve and the unwavering support of your people and nation, you defend the legacy of the great historic and internationalist leaders who fought colonialism, resisted humiliation and domination, and championed noble values.
For us in the Arab and Islamic worlds, you are no longer merely the president of the friendly and loyal Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. You have become a legitimate leader for an entire generation of people around the world, those who long for freedom and liberation from the chains of slavery disguised by illusory modernity and false liberalism.
By standing with your people and with the free men and women of Venezuela and Latin America in the face of intimidation, threats, and psychological and media warfare, with strategic patience and unbreakable will, you have become a symbol among the symbols of the Global South.
Moreover, esteemed friend, as you lead the ranks of the army and popular forces on the ground, raising the flag of peace with dignity, not peace through surrender, subservience, or capitulation, against the flag of aggressive powers and their arrogance, you yourself have become a standard and an emblem.
Be assured, wise leader and President Maduro, rightful guardian of the legacy of the great Hugo Chávez Frías, that your path, marked by honor and nobility, and your stance in support of the children, women, elderly, and heroes of Palestine and Gaza, who stand firm against genocide, are actions that go down in contemporary history in letters of glory and pride.
You, President Maduro, also embody the hopes of millions upon millions of free people across the world, including the free men and women of the United States itself: its youth, university students, and all who bear the messages of the divine religions in the spirit of love, faith, coexistence, and genuine peace.
Once again, happy birthday, and may your life be filled with well-being, security, victory, progress, prosperity, and social justice for your Venezuelan people, who seek to live in peace, dignity, sovereignty, and independence. May these blessings extend as well to the peoples of Latin America, the Global South, and all free nations wherever they may be.
Your brother,
Ghassan Ben Jeddou
