The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Mayadeen Media Network, Ghassan ben Jeddou, said today, Wednesday, that the strivers working in Al Mayadeen were very well aware since day one that the network would be exposed to a lot of risks.

In a speech during a stand of solidarity with the network held in Beirut, Ben Jeddou revealed that the Israeli decision against Al Mayadeen came in collusion with three Arab sides.

He also pointed out that in 2012, the former US ambassador went on a tour across Lebanon, saying she was tasked with bringing up the issue of Al Mayadeen, warning against its rise. Meanwhile, the intelligence chief of a major Gulf country, during a meeting in 2013, set a condition stipulating the silencing of Al Mayadeen as well.

Narrating an incident that dates back to 2017, ben Jeddou revealed, “I received an invitation from an official in a Gulf country whereby he told me that he was assigned to inform me of three messages from different Arab and international parties."

At the time, “I told the Gulf official who accused us of supporting ‘political Shiism’ that Al Mayadeen shall forever stand with the Resistance,” he added, vowing to “trample on whosoever even consider ending it."

Al Mayadeen’s chairman stressed, "We are ahead of a historic opportunity following the victory of Gaza and the Resistance to consolidate our discourse and build international alliances."

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Mayadeen Media Network addressed the Israeli occupation, saying that the step of silencing Al Mayadeen came out too late and that the decision to ban the network was made "because we are influential."

"We have transcended to become an unyielding concept," he stressed.

Ben Jeddou concluded his speech with a challenging promise to “Israel”, whereby he said, "I promise 'Israel' that it will soon witness a new platform that confronts it with more ferocity and clarity. When Al Mayadeen expands to include your language, you Zionists, the battle between us will grow more brutal."

On November 13, the Israeli war cabinet approved regulations that would allow the occupation government to ban and shut down Al Mayadeen Media Network, which comprises a foreign channel as per the Israeli emergency regulations descriptions and broadcasts in "Israel" in three languages: Arabic, English, and Spanish.

According to the decision, Al Mayadeen is said to "harm national security."

The chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Mayadeen Media Network, Ghassan Ben Jeddou, commented on the Israeli cabinet's decision to ban the channel and all of its outlets, from its websites to its social media accounts, in the occupied Palestinian territories.

"We will not back down from revealing the reality of the genocidal war waged by the occupation on the mighty Gaza and its fearless people,” Ben Jeddou vowed following the ban.

He also underlined that the decision to ban Al Mayadeen in occupied Palestine was taken by the Israeli cabinet led by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Security Minister Yoav Gallant, former Security Minister Benny Gantz, Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, and others, from senior officials in the Mossad, Shin Bet, and the apparatuses of murder and genocide.

The bill banning Al Mayadeen in occupied Palestine "was signed with the trembling hands of the Israeli Communication Minister publicizing the idea of triumph against Al Mayadeen with a deluded and grim pride,” he said.
