Biden admin admits to plans for PA to rule Gaza post-war
The State Dept official explained that amid "only bad options" the administration considers the PA the most viable with "significant legitimacy and capability challenges."
According to Politico, two official sources in the United States, one from the State Department, have revealed that the Biden administration has been working on a multi-phase post-war plan for running the Gaza Strip, resulting in the Palestinian Authority gaining control of the besieged strip.
The article details how the White House, State Department, and other officials have been formulating the strategy in position papers and intergovernmental meetings since last month in an effort led by National Security Council Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa Brett McGurk.
The State Dept official explained that amid "only bad options" the administration considers the PA the most viable with "significant legitimacy and capability challenges."
They intend to deploy an international force immediately following the war followed by a so-called "revamped" Palestinian Authority taking over long-term control of Gaza.
They also intend to boost security assistance from the State Department's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, as well as expand the position of the US security coordinator who advises Palestinian security forces.
This follows a statement by US officials that the mounting international pressure could prompt "Israel" to end its invasion by early next year, especially if civilian casualties continue at high levels.
The United States has sent multiple signals, noting that "Israel" would only have "weeks" in the Strip even though Hamas remains "far from being defeated," Etzion said.
US Vice President Kamala Harris put out, on Saturday, broad American goals for when the Israeli aggression on Gaza ended, emphasizing that the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank should eventually be reunified under a single political ruling party whose security forces need to be strengthened.
Such security arrangements, however, would need to be acceptable by "Israel" and its regional allies, according to Harris.
Harris broke her silence on the aggression committed by finally expressing that humanitarian law needed to be respected and that although "Israel" has what she called "legitimate" objectives against Hamas, they need to do more to protect civilians, because "too many innocent Palestinians have been killed."
The Vice President, it seems, has just noticed that over 6 thousand killed children were too many, as part of the total of over 15,000 Palestinians butchered by "Israel".
US 'under no circumstances' will permit forced displacement of Palestinians
During her meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Harris expressed that "under no circumstances will the United States permit the forced relocation of Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank, the besiegement of Gaza, or the redrawing of the borders of Gaza."
In a statement, the White House explained that once the war on Gaza ends, rebuilding activities should focus on a "clear political horizon for the Palestinian people towards a state of their own led by a revitalized Palestinian Authority" with support from the global community and regional nations.
Fearing for "Israel's" security more than the thousands of lives lost in Gaza, the statement detailed that "Hamas cannot control Gaza," since it is "untenable for 'Israel's' security," knowing that Hamas was democratically elected by the people of the same Strip with the US, "Israel", and co. taking upon themselves to decide on its post-war status.
