Borrell says Europe losing moral ground with world over Gaza stance
EU chief Josep Borrell admits in a statement that Europe is falling out with the rest of the world as a consequence of its stance on the war in Gaza.
EU chief Josep Borrell admitted in a statement that Europe is falling out with the rest of the world as a consequence of its stance on the war in Gaza.
On Monday, at a conference in Aosta organized by Le Grand Continent, Borrel said the EU has been extremely divided over Gaza, as certain countries feel personal guilt for Israelis because of the Holocaust during the Second World War, completely sidelining the atrocities "Israel" is committing in Gaza, which many likened to a holocaust.
He revealed that “relations with the global south had not been very good before 7 October, now it has become worse. We are losing moral ground with the rest of the world including in the Middle East."
He also highlighted that they [Europeans] have been accused of having double standards this time around, more than they have seen when they undertook Ukraine's side in the war against Russia.

'Europeans will never forget': Irish MEP's tearful speech on Gaza
Government officials have previously criticized the European Union for being abhorrently complicit in the genocide in Gaza.
At the beginning of December, Irish MEP Mick Wallace broke into tears during a speech in the European Parliament, criticizing the European Union's unwavering support for "Israel" against the Palestinians. Wallace shared a video clip of his speech on his social media, visibly moved by the killing and destruction carried out by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza.
Wallace stated, "Israel could not behave as it does without the support + complicity of the European Union- we have to stop that..."

"...It is important that we don't forget...the people of Europe will never forget that the EU stood by the Apartheid State of Israel against the Palestinians...," he added.
In the video, Wallace appeared deeply affected by the ongoing events, trying more than once to hold his tears back.
He then said in a post on X that it is uplifting to see a growing number of Jews worldwide distancing themselves from Zionism, the settler colonial project of apartheid "Israel", despite the unwavering support it receives from the colonial powers of America and Europe.
It is so encouraging for the future that so many Jews across the world are distancing themselves from Zionism, the Settler Colonial Project of the Apartheid State of #Israel, which sadly has the unconditional support of the old Colonialists of America and Europe... https://t.co/HSa4BE2Hhn
