Brazil's Lula demands humanitarian corridor in Palestine
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas discusses developments in Palestine with his Brazilian counterpart.
Amid the developments in Palestine and the Israeli occupation’s genocidal aggression in Gaza, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas discussed the situation with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva during a phone call.
During the phone call, President Abbas highlighted the need to halt the Israeli aggression on Gaza and the dire importance of opening a humanitarian corridor for the provision of medical supplies and other important supplies that have been cut off by the Israelis, such as water, electricity, and fuel.
The Palestinian president also denounced the displacement of the population of Gaza, describing it as yet another catastrophe for the Palestinian people in the Strip. He further called for the release of civilian prisoners and detainees, highlighted the need to abide by signed agreements, and stressed his commitment to peaceful popular resistance as the means for ending the Israeli occupation.
Abbas said he was grateful for the support given by his Brazilian counterpart, and the latter’s commitment to the Palestinian cause and the establishment of an independent Palestinian State with East Al-Quds as its capital.
For his part, President Lula da Silva asserted Brazil’s solidarity with the people of Palestine in their efforts to attain freedom and independence, underscoring the urgent need for humanitarian and medical aid to the Gaza Strip.

Gazans displacement means end to Palestinian cause: Egypt President
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-El-Sisi said on Thursday that the people of Gaza must "stay steadfast and remain on their land" despite international appeals for Cairo to facilitate safe passage for civilians who are currently trapped in Gaza.
It's worth noting that the Rafah border crossing, situated between Egypt and Gaza, is the sole point of entry and exit for the Gaza Strip that is not under Israeli control.
The head of State noted that Egypt is committed to ensuring the delivery "of aid, both medical and humanitarian at this difficult time", adding that Cairo's position remains firm with regard to ensuring Palestinians' "legitimate rights".
Turkish FM opposes displacement of Palestinians to Egypt
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Saturday that his country opposes the forced displacement of Palestinians to Egypt and that it is crucial to prevent additional civilian casualties in the area as tensions between Palestine and "Israel" continue to escalate.
"It is necessary to avoid civilian casualties. We see that some countries are trying to present arbitrary repressions of Israel in Gaza as a justified intervention, Such a distorted and inhumane approach leads only to increasing violence and the death of innocent people. I repeat once again that we are inviting Israel to comply with international law. We are against the displacement of Palestinians. We will never approve of the policy of expulsion to Egypt," Fidan said at the press conference with Sameh Shoukry, his Egyptian counterpart, in Cairo.
The minister went on to explain that it was crucial to prevent the crisis from spreading and that Ankara has spoken with all of the neighboring nations about it.
