Despite the announcement of a ceasefire in Gaza, the Israeli occupation continues massacring Palestinians and destroying the Strip.

In 24 hours, the Israeli occupation committed three massacres across the Palestinian-besieged territory, killing 23 Palestinians and injuring 83 more.

Although several victims were transported to the few partially functioning hospitals in Gaza, countless more remain trapped under the rubble as rescue operations have been rendered near impossible.

This raises the death toll since October 7, 2023, to 46,899 Palestinians killed and 110,725 others injured.

The Gaza Civil Defense has announced that 122 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire agreement was declared, including 33 children and 33 women. More than 270 others have been injured during this period.

In a statement, the Civil Defense detailed the distribution of casualties across the Gaza Strip. The highest toll was recorded in Gaza City, where 92 people were killed, followed by 19 in Khan Younis, 10 in the central region, and two in Rafah in the southern part of the Strip.

Gaza prepares for ceasefire amid intensified Israeli bombardment

Preparations are underway in Gaza as emergency committees mobilize in anticipation of the ceasefire set to take effect on Sunday, following over a year and three months of genocide.

Despite the looming truce, Israeli forces continue their escalated attacks. Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that the Israeli occupation appears to be "racing against time to destroy as many homes as possible," with intensified strikes reported in areas north of Nuseirat in central Gaza and the Jabalia refugee camp in the North.

Drone strikes and air raids remain ongoing. An Israeli drone dropped bombs west of Jabalia, while another targeted the vicinity of Salah al-Din Mosque in the al-Zaytun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City.

In addition, artillery shelling was reported in northern Gaza, and airstrikes hit the al-Oyoun intersection on Al-Nasr Street in northwestern Gaza City.

Early on Saturday, Israeli warplanes launched attacks on Aabasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, continuing a pattern of aggression even as the region inches closer to the declared ceasefire.
