Ceasefire, IOF withdrawal prerequisite to prisoner exchange: Al-Hindi
Senior PIJ official Mohammad al-Hindi reveals details on ongoing talks in Egypt and shares his analysis of regional developments in an exclusive interview with Al Mayadeen.
The image promoted via misinformation and lies by the Israeli occupation has been completely reversed, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad's (PIJ) Deputy Secretary General Mohammad al-Hindi told Al Mayadeen in a live interview.
"The reality on the ground can be summed up [with the fact that] Israel is trapped in #Gaza. It is incapable of withstanding substantial losses on the battlefield, not to mention that it has lost the internal consensus it once enjoyed."

Al-Hindi discussed the key developments regarding the Israeli war on Gaza, sharing his analysis on the matter with Al Mayadeen.
A decisive battle
He highlighted the criticality of the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood, emphasizing the weight of its outcomes on the course of the Palestinian cause. The PIJ official said that the battle carries the same weight as the 1948 War, where the Israeli forces occupied several regions in Palestine, forcibly displacing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.
Moreover, al-Hindi said that the current battle is "decisive", saying that the situation it will produce will be distinctly different than any situation that preceded it. In fact, al-Hindi said that the results of the battle would not be limited to Palestine, but they would have an effect on the entire region.
"The consultations between Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad are ongoing, whether on the battlefield or in politics. What's happening today is an existential war, reminiscent only of the '48 war, because what follows will be nothing like anything that preceded it."

In this context, the senior official told Al Mayadeen that the Palestinian Resistance is ready to fight Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip for a period longer than what the enemy had estimated.
He also stressed that Israeli attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians outside of the Gaza Strip are "deluded".
"Israel deludedly thought that the people of Gaza would move to Egypt pressuring them from the northern to the southern region," al-Hindi told Al Mayadeen.
Regarding the proposed Israeli plots regarding the governance and security of Gaza, al-Hindi said that these plans are illusions that will be buried alongside previous Israeli plots, due to the reality produced by the Resistance on the battlefield.
No deal before withdrawal
He also revealed some details on ongoing talks in Egypt, which he said centered around pathways to end the Israeli aggression on Gaza and a prisoner exchange deal. Al-Hindi highlighted the Palestinian Resistance's intent not to discuss an exchange deal unless the Israeli occupation halts its aggression on the Gaza Strip and withdraws its forces.
As talks of a prisoner exchange deal that would include women and elderly captives held in the Gaza Strip intensify, al-Hindi reiterated that these individuals are either serving or have served in the occupation's military, meaning that they cannot be considered civilians. His comments indicate that a rumored deal, regarding a temporary truce and an exchange similar to the one completed in late November, is out of the question.
"The ongoing discussions in #Cairo are aimed at assessing the entanglement of Israel and the #UnitedStates in #Gaza. Our stance is crystal clear that no prisoner exchange will take place until the aggression stops and the Zionist army withdraws from #Gaza."

Yemen highlights Arab latency
In this context, the senior PIJ official criticized the stance of Arab governments, stating that they have added no value to the mediated negotiations, as they possess no influence "on regional equations."
However, al-Hindi pointed to the role that Yemen had to play in support of the Palestinian people, spearheaded by the Sanaa government and the Yemeni Armed Forces. He said that its support for Palestine reflected the dignity and sincerity of the Yemeni nation.
The senior official did not express any surprise regarding Yemen's current position on Palestine, attributing it to the historic fulfillment of promises made by the Yemeni Armed Forces. Highlighting Yemen's increasing significance on the global stage, he pointed to the latent capabilities of the Arab nation and the discernible stance of other Arab states. Al-Hindi also expressed pride in Yemen's role both in leadership and as a people and underscored the unique nature of scenes witnessed in Sanaa distinguishing them from other Arab capitals.
Additionally, he praised Lebanon's role as a supporting front with continually escalating performance.
