BREAKING
Sheikh Qassem: Our supporters make up more than half of Lebanon's population, and all of these people are united under the banner of protecting Lebanon, its Resistance, its people, and its integrity.
Sheikh Qassem: There will be no phased handing in of our arms. [The Israelis] must first enact the agreement before we start talking about a defensive strategy.
Sheikh Qassem: Be brave in the face of foreign pressures, and we will be by your side in this stance.
Sheikh Qassem: Stripping us of our arms is like stripping us of our very soul, and this will prompt us to show them our might.
Sheikh Qassem: We will not abandon our arms, for they gave us dignity; we will not abandon our arms, for they protect us against our enemy.
Sheikh Qassem: The US efforts we are seeing are aimed at sabotaging Lebanon and constitute a call for sedition.
Sheikh Qassem: If you truly want to establish sovereignty and work for Lebanon’s interests, then stop the aggression.
Sheikh Qassem: The United States, which is meddling in Lebanon, is not trustworthy but rather poses a danger to it.
Sheikh Qassem: The United States is preventing the weapons that protect the homeland.
Sheikh Qassem: The government’s latest decision [on the disarmament of the Resistance] is non-charter-based, and if the government continues down this path, it is not faithful to Lebanon’s sovereignty.

On Sunday, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan with the aims of peace efforts for the future.

China puts forward that it is willing to cooperate with Pakistan to facilitate building a closer China-Pakistan community, where both populations benefit and share a future in the "new era", bringing momentum for regional cooperation and world peace.

Last year, China and Pakistan celebrated the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, where Xi encouraged the two sides to improve bilateral relations and pave the way for a better future.

As the planet delves into a period of transition and uncertainty, Xi emphasized the significance of China-Pakistan relations, saying that the two countries should carry forward the tradition of mutual trust, mutual assistance, and cooperation, and carry out more extensive and in-depth strategic cooperation.

Xi said that China solidly supports Pakistan in upholding its national independence, sovereignty, dignity, and fighting terrorism and that China is pleased to join hands with Pakistan to accelerate the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, ensuring the implementation of key projects.

China expresses willingness to work with Pakistan to expand cooperation in science, technology, agriculture, and people's well-being, in addition to building an eco-friendly, digital corridor, supporting Pakistan's industrialization and sustainable development.

The two will be strengthening coordination on multilateral platforms such as the United Nations to 'safeguard world and regional peace and stability.'

On Khan's part, the Pakistani leader congratulated China on the inauguration of the Beijing Winter Olympics, thanking China for its help in combatting the pandemic in Pakistan.

Furthermore, Pakistan expressed its will in going ahead with building the second phase of the CPEC, and its keenness on strengthening relations with China in various areas, such as industry, agriculture, and IT.
