Closer to irresponsibility, hallucination: Syria on Blinken statement

The Syrian Foreign Ministry says without US and Western support, terrorists would not have been able to commit massacres against Syrians.

The Syria Foreign Ministry on Wednesday considered that the statement of the US State Secretary on March 6 is closer to irresponsibility and hallucination than to logic and objectivity as it reverses realities and manipulates events.

In a statement, the Ministry pointed out that without the US and Western funding, support, and arming, the armed terrorist organizations would not have been able to commit massacres against Syrians and destroy their infrastructure and civilization.

It pointed out that Blinken "or the ex-secretaries, couldn’t wash their hands stained with Syrians' blood who were killed in al-Thardah mount in Deir Ezzor province and in Raqqa, in addition to the theft of Syrian resources estimated at nearly USD 30 billion that should be paid by the US to the Syrians."

Elsewhere, the Syria Foreign Ministry underlined that comprehensive and permanent peace in Syria can’t be achieved while the US continues to occupy Syrian territories and set up illegitimate military bases on its lands.

On Monday, Blinken announced that the US Department of State is designating a Syrian intelligence officer for allegedly murdering 41 civilians and banning him and his wife from entering the United States. The top US official also reiterated his country's unwavering support to the militants.

Saudi foreign minister arrives in Syria for economic talks

A day before Blinken's statement, a source in the Syrian Foreign Ministry said Syria condemned the illegal visit made by the US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, to the country's northeast.

Milley said he flew to Syria in order to review efforts mobilized in preventing a claimed possible resurgence of ISIS and assess safeguards for US occupation troops stationed in Syria.

"Syria underlines that the illegal visit by the American Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is a flagrant violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity," the Syrian Foreign Ministry source said.

"The Syrian Foreign Ministry calls on the US administration to immediately stop its systematic and continuous violations of international law and its support for separatist armed militias," the source added.

He also stressed that Damascus will not allow American acts to "derail it from combatting terrorism and safeguarding its sovereignty, security, and stability."
