Congressman fears Soros pushing FCC to dominate US radio: Fox News
Republican congressman Chip Roy says that constituents had contacted him, expressing concerns about the extent to which it's "very clear" that Soros is "making a move in the radio world.”
A US Congressman expressed concern that infamous billionaire George Soros is pushing the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to approve his buyout of American radio giant Audacy, Fox News reported on Thursday.
The founder of Open Society Foundation, believed to be a main funder of dozens of color revolutions and regime change movements around the world, has already acquired major shares in the country's second-largest radio firm, and stands to gain "effective control" over 220 radio outlets across the states.
Meanwhile, Audacy possesses 227 radio stations across 45 states, encompassing music, sports, and talk radio. The company also holds CBS Radio, which manages 11 news stations, such as KCBS in San Francisco and WCBS in New York.

Fox News said it has seen a letter written by Republican congressman Chip Roy, stating that Soros Group is requesting that the FCC approve the purchase of Audacy without it “running its normal, statutorily required process.”
“This transaction, which affects radio stations that reach millions of listeners across the US, including in Texas’ 21st congressional district, should – at minimum – be subject to rigorous FCC oversight to ensure US radio stations are not subject to undue influence,” he mentioned.
Audacy's largest shareholder
Soros' investment firm has emerged as Audacy's largest shareholder by acquiring approximately $400 million of the media group's debt during its bankruptcy proceedings. The radio company filed for bankruptcy early last month with a total debt of $1.9 billion. If the deal is finalized, the notorious businessman would co-own broadcasters across 45 US states.

Congressman Roy highlighted in his letter that the Soros group, rather than following the typical petition for declaratory ruling process, has requested the FCC to waive this process and delay it until later — suggesting that "those foreign stakeholders will be given ‘special warrants’ in the meantime.”
The legislator also informed Fox News Digital that constituents had contacted him, expressing issues and concerns about "the extent to which it’s very clear that Soros is, you know, making a move in the radio world.”
