Syria's Foreign Ministry condemns Turkey's aggression
A senior source in Syria's Foreign Ministry says his country preserves its right, safeguarded by the constitution, to retaliate against Turkey's hostile practices and put a stop to them.
The Ministry also called on the United Nations and the Security Council to take a clear and honest stance against Turkey's hostile practices, in line with the Security Council's decisions on Syria, which stress the respect of its sovereignty, independence, and unity of its lands.
The Turkish Ministry of Defense had announced on Sunday that its forces neutralized 10 Kurdish gunmen in northern Syria, claiming that they were attempting to attack their ongoing operation in the region.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt ÇavuÅŸoÄŸlu had announced that there are ongoing talks with Damascus on matters related to security and combating terrorism, but no direct political negotiations.
