Demonstrations sweep Yemen in support of Gaza on Oct. 7 anniversary
Millions took to the streets in Yemen to commemorate Operation al-Aqsa Flood on the anniversary of the start of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza.
On the anniversary of Operation al-Aqsa Flood, Yemen's million-man march, held on October 7th, marked a historic day in the collective memory of the Islamic world.
The demonstration’s statement, titled "A Flood Toward Liberation," expressed deep solidarity with the Palestinian cause and issued strong condemnations against the Israeli occupation.
The statement highlighted the significance of this date, declaring, "On this day, the Islamic world awoke to an exceptional morning in its history."
Referring to the October 7th event as a pivotal moment, the declaration underscored how the operation "shattered the illusion of absolute security and complete military superiority that the occupying entity relied upon for its survival."
Furthermore, the statement condemned the Israeli regime as one that is "weaker than a spider's web," due to its fragility and vulnerability in the face of resistance.
The Yemeni organizers criticized the Arab and Islamic rulers for their inaction, stating, "More than a year has passed, and the leaders of Arab and Muslim countries have remained motionless, failing to take any stance in support of the Palestinian people."
The statement also lambasted the international community for its indifference to what it described as "the global silence toward the genocide committed by the Zionist enemy in Gaza, which has now spread to the West Bank and Lebanon."
Yemen will not abandon Lebanon, Gaza
The declaration then went on to praise the resilience of the Palestinian fighters: "A year of steadfastness and legendary endurance by the heroic freedom fighters in Palestine has astonished the world and prevented the enemy from achieving any significant goals."
Yemen also acknowledged the role of its allies, paying tribute to the "year of loyalty and sacrifice from the support fronts in Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq."
As the anniversary of the operation was commemorated, the march reiterated its firm stance: "On the first anniversary of Operation al-Aqsa Flood, we once again affirm our unwavering faith-based and principled support for the Palestinian people and their freedom fighters."
In a message of solidarity to both the Palestinian and Lebanese people, the statement declared, "God is with you, and we are with you. We will not abandon you, no matter how long it takes or how great the challenges and dangers become, until victory is achieved, God willing."
In a final message directed at the Israeli occupation, the statement warned: "No matter what crimes you commit, you will not change your inevitable fate—your ultimate demise."
YAF strike Tel Aviv, Eilat with ballistic missiles, drones
Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced Monday the launch of two military operations against Israeli targets, marking the first anniversary of the October 7 Operation al-Aqsa Flood.
These attacks were part of the fifth phase of Yemen's escalation in support of the Palestinian and Lebanese people and their resistance movements.
General Saree declared that the first operation, deemed successful, targeted two military sites in the occupied area of Yafa. The attack involved two ballistic missiles—Palestine 2 and Zulfiqar. He confirmed that the two missiles hit their intended targets.
In a second operation earlier in the day, the YAF’s UAV Force carried out a number of drone strikes on multiple targets in Yafa (Tel Aviv) and the southern region of Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) in occupied Palestine. The strikes involved Yafa and Samad 4 drones, several of which successfully reached their targets, according to Saree.
The Yemeni Armed Forces reaffirmed their solidarity with the Palestinian Resistance in Gaza and the West Bank, praising the "heroic fighters of the Palestinian resistance across all factions." They also extended their support to the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, stressing that Yemen would continue to conduct military operations against the Israeli occupation until the end of its aggression on Gaza and Lebanon.
Brigadier General Saree emphasized that the Yemeni Armed Forces would also maintain a naval blockade until these conditions are met.
