The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Wednesday that hospitals received the bodies of 10 martyrs, including two retrieved from under the rubble, and 61 injuries over 24 hours.
Many victims remain trapped beneath debris and along roads, unreachable due to continued bombardment.
Since October 7, 2023, as of October 8, 2025, the death toll of the Israeli genocide in Gaza has surged to 67,183 Palestinians, in addition to 169,841 injuries.
Since March 18, 2025, the toll has risen to 13,588 Palestinians killed and 57,800 wounded. Moreover, as the Israeli-made famine looms over Gaza, 11 starved Palestinians were injured while trying to receive aid at designated "aid distribution sites" and were later transported to hospitals, as per the Ministry's report.
The death toll among Palestinians killed while seeking food aid in designated distribution zones has now climbed to 2,613, with more than 19,164 others wounded, according to the report.
Gaza Civil Defense reports surge in residential bombings
In a related development, the Gaza Civil Defense has reported an escalation in attacks on residential areas across Gaza City, stressing the Israeli occupation has intensified the targeting of homes and civilian neighborhoods despite US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a halt to airstrikes.
According to the Civil Defense, explosive-laden vehicles carrying over five tons of explosives have been used in densely populated areas, resulting in widespread destruction and numerous casualties. The organization said that an average of ten such car-bomb detonations occur daily, particularly in neighborhoods including al-Nasser, Sheikh Radwan, al-Daraj, Tal al-Hawa, and al-Sabra.
Field teams observed that each explosion causes near-total destruction within a 300-meter radius, with partial damage extending more than 500 meters. Shrapnel from these blasts has reportedly traveled over one kilometer, injuring Palestinians, forcibly displaced families in shelters, and patients in hospitals.
“The scale and method of these attacks represent a dangerous precedent in modern warfare and a clear violation of international norms prohibiting attacks on civilians,” the Civil Defense said in a statement.
The bombings have reportedly reached central parts of Gaza City, less than 200 meters from Al-Thalathini Street, underscoring the targeting of deep civilian areas with significant infrastructure and residential populations.
The Civil Defense called on the international community to respond, warning that continued silence amounts to tacit complicity and encourages further destruction and loss of life in Gaza.
Every two days, 13 Palestinians amputated, 6 paralyzed or blinded
Israeli occupation forces are killing an average of two medical workers every day and causing 13 amputations every two days, the Gaza Government Media Office stated Tuesday, underscoring what it described as the ongoing toll of the genocide on civilians and healthcare services.
In its latest update, revealing the devastating toll of "Israel's" war on Gaza over one-to-five-day periods, the office reported that one Palestinian journalist is killed every three days and a civil defense worker every five days. It added that Israeli attacks injure around 232 people daily, more than half of them women and children.
The statement also said that "Israel’s" ongoing bombardment has resulted in paralysis or loss of vision for six Palestinians every two days, detailing that the healthcare system faces more than one direct military attack each day.
“These figures reflect the daily toll of the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip,” the Government Media Office said.
The war, now entering its third year, has devastated Gaza’s medical sector, with hospitals operating far beyond capacity and severe shortages of essential supplies hindering care for the wounded and displaced amid total Israeli blockade.
