On the 294th day of the Israeli war on Gaza, the Health Ministry in the Strip mentioned that the number of Palestinians killed in Gaza since October 7 has risen to 39,258 and those injured to 90,589.
The Ministry mentioned that, in 24 hours, Israeli occupation forces committed three massacres, killing 42 Palestinians and injuring 83 others.
It added that this morning, the Israeli massacres in Khan Younis killed 23 and injured more than 89 Palestinians, some of which are in serious condition.
The report reminded that a number of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them.
Hamas condemns the 'brutal massacre'
The Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas condemned the "brutal massacre" committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Deir al-Balah, describing it as a "heinous crime that underscores the detachment of this terrorist enemy from all human values."
In a statement, Hamas said that "the terrorist occupation government continues to perpetrate the most atrocious massacres against unarmed civilians in cold blood, without any deterrence, and under the criminal cover of the United States."
The movement called on the masses of the Arab and Islamic nations, as well as the free people of the world, to mobilize and put pressure to stop the ongoing war of genocide, starvation, and destruction.
Health Ministry warns of health system situation in Khan Younis
In a related context, the Ministry of Health in Gaza has announced that it is no longer possible to operate the European Hospital in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, due to the increasing number of areas being forcibly evacuated by Israeli occupation forces.
In a statement, the Ministry confirmed that several primary healthcare centers in Khan Younis, as well as numerous field medical points, are out of service.
The statement further warned that the expansion of displacement areas indicates that the evacuation could affect the vicinity of the Nasser Hospital, the only hospital still operational despite the challenges and Israeli attacks.
The Ministry of Health appealed to all international and UN institutions and relevant bodies for urgent and immediate intervention to protect the remaining health institutions.
Collapsing health system
On her part, Nibal Farsakh, the director of Communications at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, told Al Mayadeen that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is "beyond catastrophic".
She underscored that most hospitals in the Gaza Strip are out of service, emphasizing that the health system is in a state of collapse.
