Emir of Qatar invites Raisi to take part in GECF summit
Iran’s President received the Qatari Foreign Minister during the latter’s visit to Tehran, and received an invitation to take part in the Gas Exporting Countries Forum.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi received Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who is on a visit to Iran.
During the meeting, Raisi stressed the importance of regional cooperation and said that Iran’s priority in its foreign policy lies in developing relations and cooperation with its neighboring countries.
Raisi also said that Western powers do not respect the identity and dignity of the region’s nations and governments, and act as if they own the world, adding that the Iranian people have always insisted on their principled position, regardless of the US’ intentions, which is why the US itself has admitted that the maximum pressure campaign has failed.
Qatar’s Foreign Minister extended an official invitation to Raisi, on the part of the Emir of Qatar, to take part in the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) and said that “Qatar is determined to make the utmost efforts to increase relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in various political and economic fields, and the Emir of Qatar is personally following up on the development of relations between the two countries. "
Al Thani added, "Qatar also agrees with Iran that the presence of foreign forces in the region has a negative impact, and we believe that the countries of the region should take the path of peace and progress by adopting regional cooperation."

Qatar emir to visit Biden for talks on natural gas supplies to Europe
The emir of Qatar will meet US President Joe Biden in the White House on Monday to discuss Afghanistan, in addition to plans and efforts to provide natural gas to Europe in case of a Russian invasion in Ukraine, according to Axios.
Europe is 40% reliant on Russian natural gas, and this undermines Biden's attempts to stir up sanctions that are made to coerce Russia if tensions in Ukraine lead to conflict. The sanctions, apparently, will be imposed from both sides of the Atlantic.
The White House is aiming to secure Qatar's help in assuring European allies that they can enforce hawkish sanctions on Russia with minimal damage regarding the energy crisis.
