A Yemeni military source told Al Mayadeen that the setback of the aggression in Haradh is the largest of its kind, describing the battles that occurred there as very violent.

According to the source, the Saudi enemy’s operation to capture Haradh was the largest among its predecessors on the same front noting that "the Saudi enemy has formed forces out of 10 brigades, which he called the Happy Yemen Brigades."

The source continued by saying that among the brigades were Saudi battalions and a brigade of Sudanese mercenaries. It revealed that It was agreed that Saudi Arabia would pay the delayed salaries from the year 2021 to the mercenaries.

The source explained how it was agreed that Saudi Arabia would also pay 15,000 Saudi riyals for each fighter. It explained that the agreement was made under the supervision of the commander of the joint forces of the Saudi coalition, Brigadier General Mutlaq Al-Azima.

"The Saudi enemy operation lasted for 6 days, from Friday, February 4th until February 10th," The source said to Al Mayadeen, adding that "the Saudi enemy imposed a military siege on Haradh and closed all its entrances for six days."

The source said that after a siege that lasted 6 days, the Yemeni army and committees dealt strikes from both inside and outside Haradh, "which led to the collapse of the Saudi enemy." Within 3 days, the army forces and the popular committees were able to break the siege on the city of Haradh, it revealed.

"The [Yemeni] army and the committees were able to expand the area of open areas leading to Haradh. After lifting the siege on Haradh, the army and committee forces imposed a military cordon on the enemy forces."

The source indicated that "the Saudi enemy sustained hundreds of deaths, including a large number of leaders of the [Saudi] aggression forces."

"The [Saudi] enemy tried to establish its control by sending many of its leaders into battle, which increased its losses."

According to the military source, "The enemy has been in a state of great collapse since February 11, after its forces were surrounded and subjected to deadly ambushes," adding that the army and committees expanded their control in the east towards Jabal Al-Nar and south towards the Ahem Junction.

The military source pointed out that "the [Yemeni] army and committees succeeded in liberating large areas of what the enemy had controlled since 2018 and that they continue their operations in more than one axis to liberate districts adjacent to Haradh."

Yemen refuted Saudi coalition's allegations of controlling Haradh

Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesperson, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, denied the allegations of the Saudi-led coalition of controlling the strategic Haradh area in Hajjah Governorate.

In a tweet, Saree said that "the armed forces will broadcast special scenes for the military media to refute claims of aggression forces that they have taken control of strategic city of Haradh.”
