Five soldiers killed in ISIS attack in Syrian Desert
Five soldiers were killed and twenty others were injured after a military transport bus was attacked by an ISIS missile.
On Monday, the SANA news agency reported the killing of 5 Syrian soldiers in the Syrian desert and the injury of dozens as a result of an ISIS attack.
The agency quoted a military source as saying that a military transport bus was targeted by a terrorist missile attack in the area 50 km east of the third station in the Syrian desert by a group of ISIS militants.
The source confirmed five soldiers were killed and twenty others were injured.
This attack is not the first of its kind. In October, thirteen people were martyred and three others were injured in a terrorist attack that targeted a bus with two explosive devices on President Hafez al-Assad's bridge in Damascus.
The US reinforcing its presence
Several media reports have discussed the American forces located in northern Syria transferring hundreds of ISIS militants from Iraq.
According to SANA, the first convoy included 40 vehicles, accompanied by several SDF vehicles, while the second convoy included 20 trucks loaded with logistical materials and equipment. The two convoys headed to Rmelan.
The United States forces repeatedly send convoys of trucks loaded with weapons and military and logistical equipment to Al-Hasakah through illegal crossings to reinforce their presence in the area.
Last April, SANA reported that US occupation forces transferred dozens of ISIS members from prisons controlled by the SDF in Al-Hasakah Governorate to Al-Omar oil field in Deir Ezzor eastern countryside, preparing to employ the groups as "proxies to implement Washington's plans in the region."
In the same context, SANA stated that 40 ISIS members were transported in April by US helicopters from Al-Shaddadi Base in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah to Al-Omar oil field in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
Al Mayadeen interviewed Syria's Deputy Foreign Minister Bashar al-Jaafari in December. During the interview, al-Jaafari said all of Syria's enemies become hysterical whenever Syria nears a certain victory, seeing that his country "achieved a great victory, but the war is not yet over."
"The US occupation is still playing the ISIS card until this day," he said.
