Four Iraqi soldiers martyred as result of terrorist attack in Kirkuk
A terrorist attack in areas of operation of PKK and ISIS groups in northern Iraq resulted in the martyrdom of four Iraqi soldiers.
Four soldiers gave been reportedly murdered by a machine gun attack on a remote military outpost in northern Iraq on Saturday, according to a military source.
According to the source, the pre-dawn attack targeted a desert position outside Kirkuk, where remnants of the Islamic State group operated, as well as Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) rebels.
The location of the attack is claimed by both Baghdad's soldiers and those of Iraq's independent Kurdistan region.
According to a source who requested anonymity, Iraqi Kurdish fighters were stationed less than a mile from the attacked location.
As of yet, no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Turkish forces frequently engage in military operations against PKK militants in Iraq, which are considered a terrorist organization by Ankara and its backers in the West.
