Four police officers killed in terrorist attack southeast of Iran

In the southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan, four officers of the Iranian Traffic Police were killed in a terrorist attack on an interstate road.
On Sunday, terrorists attacked unarmed Traffic Police officers patrolling a route between the cities of Khash and Taftan.
The perpetrators, waiting in ambush, opened fire on the Traffic Police vehicle on the road.
The regional police force has vowed to avenge the deaths of the martyred officers.
Sistan and Balouchestan province shares a border with Pakistan and Afghanistan with a long coastline along the Sea of Oman.
In early July, IRNA reported that two police officers died as a result of a terrorist attack on the police station in the city of Zahedan in the capital of Sistan-Baluchestan province.
Armed individuals stormed the police station in the early hours of the day, using grenades.
