Israeli occupation forces have bulldozed the Abu Darwish post near the town of al-Nasiriyah in the countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported on Wednesday.
This comes as local Syrian sources confirmed that an Israeli force consisting of approximately 50 military vehicles had advanced into the village of al-Adnaniyah in the same area.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights noted that the sudden Israeli incursion included the entry of tanks and military bulldozers from the western side of the village of al-Asha. The convoy moved toward the town of al-Rafid, passing through al-Hiran and al-Asbah before reaching the vicinity of Tel al-Mahir.
According to the Observatory, Israeli forces took control of the al-Hiran military post amid rapidly escalating military movements in the area, triggering tension and apprehension among local residents.
The monitor also reported that an Israeli infantry force advanced into the southern outskirts of the village of Maariya, located in the Yarmouk Basin area in the western countryside of Daraa, without disclosing the reasons behind the incursion or the duration of the force's presence in the village.
Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that Israeli occupation forces, accompanied by bulldozers and engineering vehicles, entered the al-Rafid area in the demilitarized zone early this morning. This comes amid increasing reports of Israeli attempts to establish a barrier along the border with Syria in the occupied Golan Heights.
In the past two days, the Israeli Air Force has launched several airstrikes on military sites in various Syrian cities, the most recent of which occurred yesterday, targeting a military site in the southern countryside of Homs. This coincided with Israeli airstrikes on a missile battalion in Jdeidat al-Sharqiyah, near Homs.
Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in December 2024, Israeli operations have intensified, with occupation forces expanding their incursions into Syrian territory beyond the demilitarized zone.
"Israel" has seized control of approximately 95% of Quneitra province and large parts of western Daraa’s countryside, including the Yarmouk Basin. Additionally, the occupation has established several military positions in strategic locations, such as the slopes of Mount Hermon, granting its forces direct fire control over Daraa, Quneitra, and the Damascus countryside.
