Of the four nation-members of the G7, four are currently facing charges of complicity in Israeli war crimes at the ICJ. These include Germany, Canada, the US, and the UK.
On Monday, the G7 leaders published a statement expressing their full endorsement of US President Joe Biden's ceasefire proposal.
"We, the Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7), fully endorse and will stand behind the comprehensive deal outlined by President Biden that would lead to an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all hostages, a significant and sustained increase in humanitarian assistance for distribution throughout Gaza, and an enduring end to the crisis, with Israel’s security interests and Gazan civilian safety assured," the statement said, published by the Italian G7 Presidency 2024.
The statement reiterated the leaders' backing of a two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian matter.
"We call on Hamas to accept this deal, that Israel is ready to move forward with, and we urge countries with influence over Hamas to help ensure that it does so," the leaders added.

Since the genocide began, the West has endured massive waves of pro-Palestine protests, aimed at pressuring their governments into halting all investments, all armaments and all complicity in Israeli war crimes.
Of the four nation-members of the G7, four are currently facing charges of complicity in Israeli war crimes at the ICJ. These include Germany, Canada, the US, and the UK.
On May 31, US President Joe Biden laid out a new proposal that involves releasing Israeli captives in exchange for a ceasefire in Gaza.
He claimed that this was the most effective step toward de-escalating the ongoing war, adding, "With a ceasefire, that aid could be safely and effectively distributed to all who need it."
On June 1, Hamas expressed that it "views positively" the contents of Biden's speech regarding a permanent ceasefire
On June 2, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced that any suggestion of "Israel" agreeing to a permanent ceasefire before "the destruction of Hamas' military and governing capabilities" was "a non-starter."
Then on June 3, Hamas requested that "Israel" provides a detailed ceasefire agreement which aligns effectively with Biden's description.
It is important to note that several extremists in Netanyahu's cabinet are threatening to dissolve the government if decides to agree to the terms mentioned in Biden's proposal.
