The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza continues to escalate as Israeli genocide shows no signs of abating. According to the Ministry of Health, 51 Palestinians were martyred in 24 hours, including three bodies retrieved from beneath the rubble, and 104 others were injured. These numbers come amid relentless Israeli attacks that have left many more victims trapped under debris or lying lifeless in the streets, inaccessible to rescue and medical teams due to the ongoing bombardment.
Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, Gaza has endured one of the deadliest and most prolonged military campaigns in recent history. The total death toll has now climbed to 55,959 martyrs, with 131,242 injured, a staggering reflection of the scale of destruction and suffering inflicted on the population.
Since March 18, 2025, the Ministry reported 5,647 martyrs and 19,201 wounded, a clear indication of the intensified aggression in recent weeks.
Israeli genocide ongoing
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that the devastation continued early Sunday as Israeli warplanes and drones targeted civilian areas across central and southern Gaza. A drone strike in the al-Nuseirat refugee camp killed a husband and his wife in their home.
Additional airstrikes near the Ain Jalut Towers and a displacement tent in the Hassayneh area resulted in more casualties. In the al-Zawaida town, several Palestinians were killed and wounded when a residential house was struck, as per our correspondent.
Further south, in al-Mawasi Khan Younis, Israeli bombs hit a displacement tent in the al-Rayan camp, killing two Palestinians and injuring others. Concurrently, Palestinians were wounded by Israeli fire in the Asda’ area and in more strikes on displacement tents in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis.
Collapsing healthcare system
As the death toll mounts, Gaza’s already-shattered healthcare system is collapsing under pressure. The Ministry of Health warned that over 48% of laboratory materials are nearly depleted, and blood banks are facing a severe shortage. Hospitals are struggling to cope with the influx of casualties, while thousands of forcibly displaced Palestinians remain without shelter, food, or medicine. The lack of access to even the most basic humanitarian aid compounds an already catastrophic situation.
These massacres are not random incidents; they are part of a systematic assault on a besieged population, where homes, shelters, and medical facilities have become primary targets. Behind every statistic is a family torn apart, a child orphaned, a future stolen. The silence of the international community grows more deafening by the day.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation, with active support from the United States, has expanded its campaign of aggression beyond Gaza and launched strikes on the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to attacks on Yemen, Lebanon, and Syria.
