Former US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter said on Tuesday evening that it is not logical from a military perspective for "Israel" to launch an all-out war on Lebanon.

During an interview with Al Mayadeen, Ritter emphasized that Hezbollah possesses various weapons sufficient to impair Israeli capabilities and systems, suggesting that "Israel" would likely lose any war it wages against Hezbollah.

Touching on "Israel's" internal situation, he pointed out that Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "is fighting for his personal survival."

"He [Netanyahu] survives only as long as he remains in power. And he can remain in power only as long as he sustains this conflict," Ritter added.

He indicated that, in Washington, they understand that they must distance themselves from Netanyahu's ambitions, which are putting "Israel" on a threatening path, adding that the United States' insistence on its relations with "Israel" burdens it and will lead it to lose its dominance in the world.

Ritter highlighted that the vague statements of the US State Department regarding Israeli violations represent a significant change as Washington has become accustomed to not addressing this topic.

He also described the October 7 events, Hamas' resilience politically and militarily, and the courage of the Palestinian people as having changed things fundamentally in the United States and "Israel".

"You're seeing a change in the domestic political climate in America where the pro-Palestinian cause is equal or even greater than the pro-Israeli cause," Ritter said.

He stressed that these factors opened the door to discussing the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state, adding that after October 7, the Palestinian Resistance gained the upper hand, and the entire world must adapt to the new reality.

The former US Marine Corps intelligence officer said that Hamas has created a global political dynamic that no party can surpass, affirming that if the group persists with its resistance, the differences between "Israel" and the world will not remain seasonal but will continue.

Ritter said that the global voices supporting Palestine have begun to surpass those supporting "Israel", adding that the Global South has become an essential part of the world, and due to the actions of "Israel" and the United States, Washington has lost its relations with this South.
