79 fatalities, including two victims recovered from the rubble, and 379 injured individuals have arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health's daily report published on Sunday.
This brought the total death toll up to 66,005 martyred, and 168,162 wounded since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza on October 7, while since the resumption of the war on March 18, 13,137 Palestinians were killed and 56,121 were wounded.
In the past 24 hours, hospitals have received 6 fatalities and 66 injuries from incidents involving aid distribution, raising the total number of casualties from the struggle for basic sustenance to 2,566 killed and more than 18,769 injured, the report added.
Earlier on Sunday, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza reported that several people were wounded after the Israeli occupation forces shelled a house near the Dawood Mosque in the Nuseirat camp, in the central Gaza Strip.
Additionally, an Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza reported that the Israeli aggression over the past 24 hours has resulted in more than 110 fatalities, as Israeli forces concentrated their attacks on central and southern Gaza City.
Our correspondent in Gaza further reported that Israeli airstrikes have targeted the Al-Saudi neighborhood northwest of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip.
This comes as humanitarian organizations are forced out of Gaza City under fire, as Israeli forces intensify their attacks on Gaza City and infiltrate deeper areas of the area.
MSF forced to halt operations in Gaza City amid Israeli invasion
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) announced on September 27 that it is being forced to halt its life-saving medical operations in Gaza City as advancing Israeli forces push further into the territory, surrounding clinics and putting both patients and medical personnel in grave danger.
The organization stated, "The unacceptable level of risk has led us to reluctantly decide to suspend our lifesaving activities in Gaza City," while noting that Israeli tanks are now positioned less than one kilometer from its facilities.
Jacob Granger, MSF’s emergency coordinator in Gaza, emphasized the severity of the decision, stating, “We have been left with no choice but to stop our activities, as our clinics are encircled by Israeli forces. This is the last thing we wanted, as the needs in Gaza City are enormous, with the most vulnerable people, infants in neo-natal care, those with severe injuries and life-threatening illnesses, unable to move and in grave danger.”
Despite the intensifying assault, MSF clinics last week alone managed over 3,600 consultations and treated 1,655 cases of malnutrition in addition to trauma and burn victims, all while warning that hospitals across Gaza are already overwhelmed and operating with critically low levels of staff, supplies, and fuel.
