Gaza emerges in support of Al-Aqsa
Hundreds of Palestinians demonstrate in the eastern regions of the Gaza Strip, denouncing the settlers' storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
On Sunday, hundreds of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip gathered at the separation fence to participate in demonstrations organized by the Revolutionary Youth group, protesting against Israeli settlers storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque earlier this morning, which resulted in the evacuation of worshippers.
The Israeli military deployed heavily armed forces, vehicles, and sniper units along the separation fence to disperse the protests in the eastern areas of the Gaza Strip. Despite the suppression efforts by the occupation, the Revolutionary Youth continued their activities.
As reported by Al Mayadeen's correspondent, several individuals, including two journalists named Fadi Al-Danaf and Bilal Al-Sabbagh, suffered from suffocation due to the Israeli forces' direct use of tear gas against them.
Additionally, the Israeli occupation forces wounded two young men with live bullets in the vicinity of the city of Rafah, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. Local media sources indicated that a press vehicle was deliberately targeted by the occupation forces in the northern Gaza Strip's Jabalia region.
The Gaza Ministry of Health reported that ambulance teams were attending to cases of fainting and injuries caused by gas bombs in the eastern governorates. Concurrently, demonstrators in the south of the Gaza Strip, specifically in Khuza’a, set rubber tires on fire and raised Palestinian flags as part of the activities organized by the Revolutionary Youth.
Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa
Israeli settlers stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied al-Quds on Sunday morning, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, to mark the occasion of Rosh Hashanah or what is commonly known as the Jewish New Year.
The settlers toured the courtyards of the mosque, provoking Muslim worshippers. Footage filmed by activists in the mosque documented the incursion of the settlers into the holy Muslim site, which was led by former member of the Israeli Knesset Yehuda Glick.
Occupation forces imposed strict measures around Al-Aqsa Mosque, obstructing the arrival of worshippers to the holy site as well as the entry of Palestinian citizens and school students passing through its courtyards, according to local sources.
They also restricted the entry of Palestinians under the age of 50 into areas surrounding the site.
Furthermore, Israeli occupation forces arrested two young men in the mosque's courtyards and transferred them to an unknown location.
